·       Martin Truex Jr. won the 67th Annual Bojangles’ Southern 500 Sprint Cup Series race Sunday night. For Truex, it is his fifth victory in 394 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.

·         It is Truex’s second victory and 11th top-10 finish in 2016.

·         It is Truex’s first multi-win season of his career.

·         It is Truex’s first victory and fifth top-10 finish in 11 races at Darlington Raceway.

·         This is the second time Furniture Row Racing has won the Bojangles' Southern 500 (Regan Smith, 2011).

·         Truex is the 11th different winner in the last 11 races at Darlington.

·         Kevin Harvick (second) posted his ninth top-10 finish in 20 races at Darlington Raceway. It is his 20th top-10 finish in 2016.

·         Kyle Larson (third) posted his third top-10 finish in three races at Darlington Raceway. It is his first back-to-back top-5 finish this season.

·         Denny Hamlin finished fourth on Sunday, giving him nine top-5 showings this season. It is his seventh top-10 finish in a row.

·         Joey Logano (fifth) posted his 17th top-10 and 10th top-5 finish through 25 races this season.

·         Chase Elliott (10th) was the highest finishing rookie.

·       Kevin Harvick (840) leads the 2016 Sprint Cup Series points standing by 43 points over Brad Keselowski (797).  The following are the top-5 drivers in points with one race to go in the regular season:

·      Twelve drivers have qualified for the 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, a list which includes Kyle Larson, Tony Stewart, Joey Logano, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth and Martin Truex Jr., all of who have taken checkered flags this year. 

·         As a result of his victory in the Pennsylvania 400 in Pocono on August 1, Chris Buescher would also qualify so long as he finishes in the top-30 in points after the season’s 26 regular season races. Buescher currently sits in the 30th spot with 358 points, 11 points ahead of David Ragan (347), who is in 31st.  The Chase culminates with the Ford EcoBoost 400 championship race on November 20 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.


·         In 11 Sprint Cup Series starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Martin Truex Jr. has three top-5 and seven top-10 finishes, including a second place finish in the 2006 Ford 400. In 2015, Truex was among the Championship 4 drivers who competed for the Sprint Cup Series title in the Ford EcoBoost 400. Also, Martin Truex Jr. celebrated his two XFINITY Series championships at Homestead Miami Speedway (2004, 2005).

Race Winner: Elliott Sadler

Starting this year, the XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series will feature championship races at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 19 (NXS) and November 18 (NCWTS).  Four drivers will compete amongst a full field for their respective title. Below are Race Recaps from Saturday’s XFINITY Series race at Darlington Raceway and Sunday’s Camping World Truck Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park:

·         Elliott Sadler won the 34th Annual VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 XFINITY Series race at Darlington Raceway Saturday afternoon. It was his 12th victory in 320 NASCAR XFINITY Series races.

·         It is Sadler’s second victory and 21st top-10 finish in 2016.

·         It is Sadler’s first victory and sixth top-10 finish in 13 races at Darlington Raceway.

·         Elliott Sadler leads the point standings by 54 points over Daniel Suarez

·       Through 24 races this season in the XFINITY Series, Erik Jones, Daniel Suarez and Elliott Sadler have qualified for the 2016 XFINITY Series Chase following their victories. Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon, Chase Elliott, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano have also won an XFINITY Series race this season but are ineligible for the XFINITY Series Chase due to their full-time status in the Sprint Cup Series. Sam Hornish Jr., Michael McDowell and Justin Marks are also ineligible because they are not full-time drivers in the XFINITY Series. 



CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES

Race Winner: John Hunter Nemechek

·         John Hunter Nemechek won the 4th Annual Chevrolet Silverado 250 Camping World Truck Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Sunday afternoon. It is his third victory in 45 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.

·         It is Nemechek’s second victory and eighth top-10 finish in 2016.

·         It is Nemechek’s first victory and second top-10 finish in three races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

·         William Byron leads the point standings by 28 points over Daniel Hemric.

·         Through 15 races this season in the Camping World Truck Series, Ben Kennedy, Christopher Bell, William Byron, Matt Crafton, John Hunter Nemechek and Johnny Sauter have qualified for the 2016 Camping World Truck Series Chase as a result of their victories. Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson have also won a Camping World Truck Series race this season but are ineligible for the Camping World Truck Series Chase due to their full-time status in the Sprint Cup Series. Brett Moffitt’s win in the Camping World Truck Series does not make him eligible for the Camping World Truck Series Chase because he does not have full-time status in the Camping World Truck Series.
