·         Carl Edwards won the 12th Annual AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway Sunday night. For Edwards, it is his 28th victory in 443 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.

·         With the victory at Texas, Edwards clinches a spot in the Championship 4 at Homestead-Miami Speedway joining Jimmie Johnson, who won last week’s race at Martinsville.

·         It is Edwards’ third victory and 18th top-10 finish in 2016.

·         It is Edwards’ fourth victory and 13th top-10 finish in 24 races at Texas Motor Speedway.

·         With the victory, Edwards moves into a tie with Kurt Busch and NASCAR Hall of Famer Rex White for 26th on the all-time series wins list.

·         Joey Logano (second) posted his seventh top-10 finish in 17 races at Texas Motor Speedway.

·         It is Logano’s 24th top-10 finish in 2016.

·         Martin Truex Jr. (third) posted his 12th top-10 finish in 23 races at Texas Motor Speedway

·         Chase Elliott finished fourth on Sunday and was the highest finishing rookie.

·         Kyle Busch (fifth) posted his 16th top-5 and 23rd top-10 showing this season.

·         In 12 Sprint Cup Series starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Edwards has five top-5 and 7 top-10 finishes, which includes two victories in the Ford EcoBoost 400 (2008 and 2010).

·         Following Sunday’s Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway, there are now only 312 #Miles2Miami. The 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup will culminate at Homestead-Miami Speedway with the Ford EcoBoost 400 championship race on November 20.

·         Below are the current standings in the 2016 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup following the second race in the Round of 8. Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards have punched their tickets into the Championship 4, following their victories in the Round of 8. Jimmie Johnson, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch are tied for the lead in the points standings:



Starting this year, the XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series will feature championship races at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 19 (NXS) and November 18 (NCWTS).  Four drivers will compete amongst a full field for their respective title. Below are Race Recaps from Saturday’s XFINITY Series and Friday’s Camping World Truck Series races at Texas Motor Speedway:

XFINITY SERIES


·         Kyle Larson won the 12th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge XFINITY Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday. It is his fifth victory in 90 NASCAR XFINITY Series races.

·         It is Larson’s second victory and 13th top-10 finish in 2016.

·         It is Larson’s first victory and third top-10 finish in seven races at Texas Motor Speedway.

·         Following the second race in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase, none of the Chase drivers in contention have clinched a spot in the Championship 4 race. The Championship 4 will compete in the Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday, November 19.

·         Daniel Suarez leads the NASCAR XFINITY Series Chase standings by 1 point over Elliott Sadler.

CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES


·         Johnny Sauter won the 18th Annual Striping Technology 350 Camping World Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday night. It is his 13th victory in 196 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races.

·         It is Sauter’s third victory and 17th top-10 finish in 2016.

·         It is Sauter’s third victory and 13th top-10 finish in 17 races at Texas Motor Speedway.

·         Matt Crafton (second) posted his 21st top-10 finish in 32 races at Texas Motor Speedway.  It is his 14th top-10 finish in 2016.

·         With Sauter’s victories at Martinsville Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway in the Round of 6, he is the only driver to clinch a spot in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Championship 4 race. Sauter will vie for the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series title of his career in the Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday, November 18.

·         Sauter leads the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase standings by 20 points over William Byron.
